It's still too cold to dive for me, so I'm launching the drone to watch my buddy's dive. ​

The water in the Oosterschelde is now 15 degrees. Outside temperatures are dropping too. It's time for a winter break.

Sanicole is the biggest airshow in Belgium. I didn't get tickets this year, but instead went to see the departures at Beauvechain. Enjoy.

The Oosterschelde was to dusty due to weather, so I had to do a dive in the Grevelingen. Will this beauty be destroyed by turning this into a freshwater lake? Time will tell, but for now, enjoy the beauty of its visitors.

When one button in your camera housing breaks, you have to get creative on the surface. Here's a double exposure (completely done in camera) with a 50-500 lens.

This week, I bring you scary critters lurking in the dark. The big eye of a Myoxocephalus scorpius staring at you. The Tubulanus Superbus biting the head of a bristleworm. And a skeleton shrimp waving it's claws... 

The dutch waters are rich in small Sepia babies, but every now and the a special little critters shows up. Rubramoena amoena : Wit gestipte knotsslak. See you next week.

Right now, the blennies are protecting their nests. This otherwise timid and fast fish gives us a unique chance to photograph them this month.

This week was hard to pick a picture. So here's three from this weekend. Mushroom jellyfish, Tompot Blenny and Flabellina pedata. Enjoy!

The baby-cuttlefish (sepia officinalis) are coming out of the eggs. This one is hiding under squid eggs (loligo vulgaris).

A good friend asked me 'where do babies come from?' Luckily we were talking about Sepiola (Bobtail squid). Some lay eggs on substrate, some in cluster, some seperate, some carry them,... but I hadn't really focussed on looking where the ones in the Oosterschelde lay theirs. So, to answer the question: the Sepiola in the Oosterschelde carry their eggs between their tentacles. Found them, took the shot, another mystery solved. 

I made a promise to show some Sepiola (Bobtail squid) to a good friend. The day before I went scouting on the other side of the Oosterschelde yesterday and took this shot. Today my friend expected to see 'a sepiola'. We found 18 Sepiola in half an hour!

Had to stay home, so shot this bug to show how it feels not to dive when it's more than 30°C outside.

The shy seahorse hides between sticks and seaweeds. It's beauty is so captivating, that it always makes my dives half an hour longer.
