31/3/2020 0 Comments Know what you are working with!Being a photographer is not only about knowing how to get the shot. It's about knowing what you're dealing with.
The lighting situation is different in every place on earth, but the species you're dealing with or the elements are also an important factor. If you want to shoot firebreathers, I suggest you learn how to breathe fire yourself (from a specialist of course). This way you know the element and technique to guide your model/firebreather into more interesting shots. You have your settings for a fireball, but it's not what you expect, then you can explain exactly the shot that you want. Here's a good example I'm working on right now. Firebreather extraordinaire Flor has mastered the skill, but below you can see that he was giving me a long continuous firebreath (left), which messed up the lighting, but to the right you see the result after a bit of guidance. That's working together! Understand each other and you can make it happen. There are even better shots, but I'm still working on those....suspense... ps. don't try this at home...unless you have a huge cellar and many skeletons. In that case, invite us!
